The Glow Within
Microneedling at Underground
Microneedling is a natural, minimally invasive treatment that stimulates your skin’s own healing process to improve texture, tone, and firmness. Using fine, sterile needles, tiny micro-channels are created on the surface of the skin. This encourages the production of new collagen and elastin—your body’s natural building blocks for smoother, healthier skin. Microneedling can help reduce the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, enlarged pores, and uneven skin tone, leaving your skin refreshed and rejuvenated with little downtime.
Read more below about what to expect during your microneedling session:
STEP 1: Your skin is first prepped with lidocaine, a local anesthetic. This numbing cream will be rubbed into your skin to improve its penetration. The cream will need to sit on your skin for about half an hour while you relax a magazine, take a nap, or watch an episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

STEP 2: The lidocaine is wiped away, and your skin is sterilized with alcohol swabs. Sometimes the smell can be a little unpleasant, but sterilizing the skin is critically important to this process, and ensures your safety and well-being

STEP 3: The microneedling begins. The provider uses a sterile single-use cartridge attached to a sterile probe. She will use small circular motions to create micropunctures in your skin. Ideally, your skin will respond by getting very red and in many cases bleed very little. This is exactly what we want to happen! That means that your healing response will be more dramatic and effective. Yay for blood!

The provider will ensure your comfort during the microneedling. She will continuously ask you if you are comfortable and able to tolerate the treatment. Most people feel nothing more than a tickling or itching sensation during microneedling, thanks to the lidocaine.

STEP 4: The provider will clean your skin very gently with sterile water, apply finishing moisturizer and sunscreen.
You can expect to be quite red for the next 24 hours, and you should try to avoid direct sunlight. Always keep a layer of sunscreen on your skin until you are fully healed.
You will be provided with post-procedure instructions both verbal and written. If you have any questions after you have left, you can always contact our physician at info@ugglow.com
